Carl Icahn sent a letter to Yahoo stating that he was perplexed by the board’s decision to reject the Microsoft bid, and now wants to replace the entire board. Meanwhile Yahoo’s chairman Roy Bostock shot back with a letter that says Icahn suffers from a “significant misunderstanding of the facts.” In the meantime, Yahoo is working on that advertising experiment with Google to prove they don’t need Icahn OR Microsoft. Microsoft is now floating the idea of a “transaction” with Yahoo…

An Interactive Advertising Bureau report says that online ad revenues jumped over twenty-five percent last year vs. the year before. The lion’s share of the market belongs to keyword search advertising, with over forty percent of the market.

Another thriving industry is the gaming industry. Nintendo leads the pack — they sold more Wii’s and DS’s than all the other consoles COMBINED. GTA4 may be the saving grace for Sony and Microsoft.
